No ventilation.\r\n\r\nFirst, check the wiring at every speaker terminal at the back of your receiver and at the back of your speakers. A single strand of speaker wire crossing from one terminal to another would be enough to cause the amp to shut down or go into PROTECT.\r\n\r\nIf you do not find any problems with any of the wiring, you should disconnect all speakers from your receiver. If the receiver continues to go into PROTECT, the problem is in the receiver. Please submit a case on the Contact Us page. They will be able to assist you.\r\n\r\nHowever, if it turns on, the problem is elsewhere. Begin reconnecting one speaker at a time. Eventually you will connect a speaker that will cause the receiver to shut down. At this point you have found your culprit.\r\n\r\nOn the other hand, it may just be overheating. You must have at least 2 - 3 inches of space between the top of the unit and any shelf or component above the unit. The unit should not be inside a sealed compartment when being used. The unit must be able to breath. There are very powerful amps in these receivers. If they run too hot, they will shut down. An external fan can help this."},{"attributes":{"type":"FAQ__kav","url":"/services/data/v38.0/sobjects/FAQ__kav/ka0i0000000kE5TAAU"},"Title":"How can the remote control for HK 3700 and HK 3770 be programmed to control other devices?","Id":"ka0i0000000kE5TAAU","ArticleNumber":"000006715","ArticleType":"FAQ__kav","Question__c":"How can the remote control for HK 3700 and HK 3770 be programmed to control other devices?","Answer__c":"Please refer to the owner's manual for AVR 151 or 151S.\r\nThe procedure is explained there.\r\nThe remote control contains a number of pre-programmed command sets that can be activated to control TV sets, disc players and other devices of various brands."},{"attributes":{"type":"FAQ__kav","url":"/services/data/v38.0/sobjects/FAQ__kav/ka0i0000000kCDYAA2"},"Title":"How do I play via Bluetooth on HK 3770?","Id":"ka0i0000000kCDYAA2","ArticleNumber":"000006569","ArticleType":"FAQ__kav","Question__c":"How do I play via Bluetooth on HK 3770?","Answer__c":"1. Vahvistimen takana lukee kaiuttimien impedanssina vain 8ohm, mutta teknisissä tiedoissa lukee 6/8ohm. Voinko siis käyttää huoletta myös 6ohm kaiuttimia hk3770n kanssa?

Asked by: Vile
Hi. Sorry, but we do not offer support in Finnish, so hopefully a response in English is ok. It is true that this specification seems imprecise. The main principle here is that if you no stranger to pushing your system close to the limit of how loud it can go, you should stick to speakers that are nominal 8 Ohm designs. Even such speakers will usually dip below 8 Ohms at certain frequencies. If you play at "normal" loudness, you can safely use 6 Ohm speakers. Of course, speaker efficiency has a role also. If you use super-efficient horn speakers, the impedance is not so important, since you will not draw much power anyway. If you have seriously inefficient speakers, you must be careful. I hope this helps.
